Who are MTAS Psychology?

MTAS Psycholgy was established in Decemeber 2009 as the Manchester Therapy and Assessment Service (MTAS), specialising in the provision of psychotherapy and medico-legal assessments in personal injury, criminal and family law.

Since this time we have had to grow rapidly to meet the increasing demand from our clients.  MTAS also expanded geographically, no longer exclusively catering to the Greater Manchester area, hence the change of name to MTAS Psychology.

I am head of the service and Clinical Lead for our medico-legal department.  I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist (HPC Reg No PYL24089), having obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The University of Liverpool.  I have worked in the field of mental health and psychology for over eight years, across various clinical areas, and I have a Bachelors Degree in Applied Psychology, and a Diploma in Psychology for post-graduates, thereby meeting the requirements for Chartership of the British Psychological Society.

I currently work in the NHS and the private sector.  As a Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychologist for Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, I am responsible for assessing, intervening and case managing children, adolescents and families with significant emotional, behavioural and psychiatric difficulties.  My work in the private sector has enabled me to continue working with adults, as such I work across the age span.

MTAS Psychology has a panel of Clinical Psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatric nurse specialists able  to offer a range of psychological services across the North West of England, including psychotherapy, expert witness services and teaching.  Work further afield can also be arranged subject to request.

At MTAS Psychology we believe we have a responsibilty to balance the needs of our clients and referring agents with those of the claimants and service users we see for assessment and therapy.  We will provide an expedient, efficient and competitive service for our clients whilst ensuring that every face to face encounter with our service users is therapeutic and supportive.  We take this responsibilty very seriously.
